I did a biking tour of Raleigh that was appropriate to share in the Raleigh, NC thread; however, I uploaded it to my new PeerTube instance instead of my usual practice of uploading to MinIO embedding the mp4 video into Discourse.
PeerTube also uses MinIO in the background, so the data basically is going to the same place, but there are a few reasons why I cannot maintain the same workflow for sharing content: first of all, as can be seen in this post, the videos do not embed into Discourse with a live player; further, the metadata comment that would have been used as the text in a Discourse post now is in the PeerTube description. Posting redundant content on multiple ActivityPub accounts would be spam. Given all of this, I am not sure what the future of publishing content on Discourse is gong to look like, or weather or not I will want to convert old content into a new format.
