A Journey of One Thousand Miles
Morrowind is my all-time favorite video game. I have played it since I was in 5th grade, and still have not completed all of its content. @ThisNurseKills and I have also played this game together in the past, but this will be both of our first time completing the main quest (hopefully).
Admittedly, many of this game’s mechanics are quite dated. Modern players typically prefer to use the more recent, open source engine, OpenMW.
OpenMW is actually required for this playthrough, as we are using the tes3mp mod to enable multiplayer.
In our second episode on the TES3MP server, @ThisNurseKills and I travel to Vivec to search for the Morag Tong. Along the way we meet some creepy old men in positions of power - specifically in the media industry. This game was truly ahead of its time.
Tonight we accomplished very little! We met the Dunmer woman with a dagger we were seeking last episode - she was friendlier than we expected. Unfortunately, we suffered some technical difficulties with the game, causing us to end the stream early. Instead, we switched to Luanti and plan to resume Morrowind next week.
@ThisNurseKills and I continue our search for the Morag Tong in Morrowind. After acquiring the tools needed to enter the guild headquarters, we receive our first writ for an honorable assassination. Naturally, things did not go as planned, as the guards accused us of possessing illigitimate writs! We engaged in a high-speed chase that eventually lead us to the underworks of one of Vivec’s cantons. We concluded this episode discussing a plan for returning to headquarters without being caught by the guards.
Thanks to @LogalDeveloper and @solidheron for joining in the chat for this episode, where @ThisNurseKills and I carry out more writs of honorable execution at the behest of the Morag Tong. We encountered a few setbacks and bugs along the way for these quests (we are using an older version of tes3mp). Fortunately, the main quest seems to be working as expected, as we were able to find the dwarven puzzle box for Hasphat Antibolis with no issues. Teamwork made quick work of those early-game bandits.
