How can I get there?
Try the teleport command in game help. I’m not sure if it will work for you.
I tried but maybe I didn’t have the permission…
After a brief interaction with a friendly hacker, @ThisNurseKills and I explore VoxeLibre on a test server as a potential candidate for Season 3 of Luanti on eom.dev. VoxeLibre is a Minecraft feature-parody game for the Luanti engine.
The game was created by Wuzzy and developed by a team of volunteers.
While I do not intend to reset the server to begin Season 3 until the beginning of 2026, those who wish to migrate their builds into the new season should use the edit mod to save them as soon as possible. Reach out to @eric if you need to be granted edit privileges for doing so.
This poll is open to both server and audience members. @eric will make the final decision about which game will be used in S3. I have included a few options beyond Minetest Game and VoxeLibre, which we may test in the coming weeks, so feel free to suggest others and update your vote as we go.
I’ll give you the teleport priv next time I’m in the game, but in the meantime you could try a teleport pad.
Do we really want to play like Minecraft though? Could you run both games? That way the players can choose.
You are right, we do not necessarily want to play like Minecraft. Like I said in the video, the problem I’m trying to avoid in S3 is enshittification due to problematic mods. If something bad gets installed that can’t be removed, it can ruin the season. VoxeLibre, Mineclonia, and others offer more content more seamlessly, so I think we will have a better experience using them.
Yes. Luanti has been the most popular thing that I’ve done on this platform, so I’m game to double down on that. I’m inclined to stick to Luanti over Minecraft, though. A lot of what I’m doing here is inspired by Hermitcraft (which recently started its 11th season), and I think that Luanti, being open source, is more on-brand for my stuff. Aside, I wonder if we could use a mod to allow players to teleport between servers without relogging…

Never heard of anything like that but that could be handy and possibly troublesome.
There is a feature in the settings where you can set a default password for your user across servers. If we assume that was being used, this might not be that hard to make.
I did not know that. I’ll go look.
Edit.
Looked, no find.
This part of the conversation would be more appropriate on Matrix.
Today @ThisNurseKills and I are exploring Asuna, a Luanti game that compiles many existing mods into a vibrant world of many different biomes.
As I mentioned in the stream, I recently watched a YouTube video on Minecraft ecology, which, in tandem with this mod, has given me the idea that we could create mods of our own to create a more dynamic world in Luanti. As the video author says, this would go against the core design principles of Minecraft, so Luanti strikes me as a good platform for the concept.
Next week we will be exploring Mineclonia, so please remember to vote in the E9 poll to let me know which to deploy for S3. Also, edit privs have been granted to several players. Please take the opportunity over the next month to save your existing builds! I am planning to start S3 at the beginning of 2026.
After a brief visit to the main server, @ThisNurseKills and I decided to check out a few more games on the Luanti engine. The first was Mineclonia, another Minecraft parody similar to VoxeLibre and a potential candidate for the S3 server:
We also decided to check out a few games from the 2025 Luanti Game Jam, starting with one made by our own @Futuray:
We then moved on to the three finalists, starting with Wuzzy’s C.O.W, which received first place in the competition:
Followed by Pixelo789’s Thinking with Arrows, which received third place:
And then the second prize winner, Agent X by Just_Visiting:
We were a bit late to the party, given the voting had already concluded, but it was still interesting to see the variety of games that can be created on this engine. Now that I’m aware of the event, I can try to make a more concerted effort to participate next year.
How can I get the tools to copy/save buildings?
I wasn’t sure how it would work for others, and I guess I needed to grant you the creative priv, which I have done. If anyone else needs this to save their builds, please let me know. I will make a world download available at the end of the season, so this can be done post-hoc.
Your builds are great, thanks for saving them! ![]()
I noticed @Deer has voted for Mineclonia, but digging into their profile a bit it seems they are actually recommending their custom fork of that game. I’d like to try the game in the same way I’ve showcased the others, but I don’t se an entry for it in the content db. Hopefully @Deer can offer some installation instructions (or add it to content db
).
Thanks @eric, I was voting for the normal Mineclonia as that is main game I play and the only one I have made mods for. I haven’t played Asuna but after watching your video of it it looks like a good choice too.
I only started Mineclonia Plus a couple of months ago so it still has a ways to go before the first release. Although I am keen to share it once it has enough content
Very cool! Would any of the mods you’ve made so far port over to Asuna? Maybe we could add some of them to Season III. I actually have some ideas for a few custom mods I’ve been thinking about for the next season as well. Namely, I’d like to create an AI agent to interact with us in the game, as well as a way to listen to internet radio stations like LABR in-game. If you’re interested in helping with either of those it would be greatly appreciated!
I had a look at Asuna and it seems for most stuff I have been making there are similar mods already installed. I don’t have much experience with complex mods so I probably won’t be very helpful with much more than tools, foods, crops and ores
